Toni Shortsleeve
President

Toni Shortsleeve owned a small event planning company in Austin, Texas for almost 10 years. Until 2003, when she moved to Oahu, her company produced leadership seminars, directed customer service and team building workshops, coordinated employee appreciation celebrations, decorated on-site according to client needs; created exhibit booth designs according to conference theme and client vision; and promoted and directed professional entertainment artists, event alliance partners and vendors.

Mrs. Shortsleeve opened her event planning company, Mystical Events, in Honolulu – following the same guideline structure that she used for her company in Texas. She is the author of the following Mystical Events guidebooks: Conference Planning Guide, Exhibit Room Planning Guide, Exhibit Booth Design Guide, and Exhibit Booth Staffing Guide (seen in the June 2007 issue of the SHRM-Hawaii Newsletter).

In 2007, Mrs. Shortsleeve co-founded and created Test Success Hawaii, Inc. She used her skills and the experiences of her previous company to bring together a team of instructors to focus on the Educational and Training industry. Beginning with SAT-prep programs and then adding College lifestyle preparation, Test Success Hawaii has been helping Hawaii’s teens to raise their SAT scores and prepare to attend and succeed in college.

As President of Test Success Hawaii, Mrs. Shortsleeve oversees all the administration to negotiate with counselors and instructors. She also maintains student registrations, communicate with parents and counselors to ensure satisfaction, prepare programs and marketing materials, provide follow-up of each program, create and submit all reports; and monitors the on-line webinar classes to assist students with technical troubleshooting, amd maintains the Test Success Hawaii website at www.testsuccesshawaii.com.


Doreen Sugita-Tsutsui
Executive Assistant
Department of Administration

Doreen originally joined Test Success Hawaii as part-time office administrative assistant.

As Executive Assistant of Test Success Hawaii, Doreen helps with both student and counselor reports, follow-up surveys, all in-office matters, and additionally supplies invaluable assistance to the president.

Alex Shortsleeve
Executive Vice President

Alexander Shortsleeve is an MBA graduate with Distinction from Hawaii Pacific University. He received his Bachelor of Science degree with honors in Travel & Hospitality Management from the University of Hawaii. Mr. Shortsleeve received his Associates Applied Science degree in Marketing from Austin Community College.

Mr. Shortsleeve recently conducted teacher training workshops for a local college using Neil Fleming’s VARK learning system. He received certification as Administrator for Certified Customer Service Specialist (CSS) and is currently teaching Customer Service at Hawaii Medical Institute.

Mr. Shortsleeve was the Hospitality and Business Instructor at Hawaii Business College for eighteen months. Among the courses he taught were Introduction to Hospitality, Front Office Management, Food & Beverage Management, Destination Geography, Sales & Marketing and Entrepreneurial Management.

From 1996 to 2003, Mr. Shortsleeve was Accounts Director and partner of a small event planning company in Austin, Texas. As the Accounts Director, he maintained the budgetary and financial aspects of the company while managing sales and sub-contractors and providing on-site direction during more than 300 events.

As Executive Vice President for Test Success Hawaii, Mr. Shortsleeve’s primary focus is on school partnerships, grants and proposals, contracts and all aspects of accounts. With more than 3 years of personal instruction and several years of public speaking, he guides our instructors to bring professionalism and quality to the classroom.

Mr. Shortsleeve also works to help motivate our High School SAT Skill-Building and Middle School Study Skills and Test-Taking programs as needed.

As part of a recent project, Mr. Shortsleeve prepared a research paper on the Difference of In-Class and On-Line Programs.

Mr. Shortsleeve is the main instructor for Test Success Hawaii’s Interactive On-line SAT & College prep classes. Mr. Shortsleeve is also currently focused on furthering developing our Career Development department, with CSS Certification and Customer Service Training.
